a few thoughts about my day on Tuesday -

Apr 15

Just to let you all know - I'm up - doing fine ... not eating a whole lot... which apparently is good thing - cause when I googled Umbilical Hernia's I found out that this is usually found in overweight people.

But, I am still eating - drinking fluids...

... it feels like they pulled my stomach muscle over my knee-caps…
I’m walking all hunched over to accommodate my knew tighter Abs – this is what I wanted… but didn’t expect to reshape my abs via surgery …
After getting up at 4am on Tues to get to the Hospital on time – I then proceeded to wait for a ½ hour to be admitted… that is a lil’ like insult to injury … waiting from 5:30 am – 6… AM… to get admitted… one thing to have to wait… but man… don’t make me get up at 4am in order to WAIT…
Anyway… they wheeled me back … strapped me down… what a weird experience… knocked me out… and that is about it…
Woke up feeling like I had been stretched to the floor and used as a target for a knife throwing circus act…
Other than that … and a terrible reaction to the pain killers – (people use this stuff for recreation ???) – man – that was worse than the surgery… I, in fact, due to my physical reaction to the only to pills I tried to take… I can say that I didn’t use any prescription drugs… Wed. I started taking a few Tylenol that we had picked up at the grocery store…
But, I am more convinced than ever that people are NUTs for wanting to take drugs…
I feel much better today … although, I’m still waking, getting up & down … VERY SLOWLY…
ALL & ALL I’d like to give a very warm round of applause to all of the great staff at St. Francis Hospital and Dr. Satchie, http://www.aurorahealthcare.org/doctors/display.asp?ID=9617
She & they really did a great job…
Really am so thankful for people that are so dedicated to helping the hurting…
Kinda reminds me of Jesus… Sickness is NOT of GOD… and people are fighting sickness in everyway that they know how… so thankful for our medical practitioners – that are doing a GREAT thing and are helping a GREAT many people…

Steve, YIKES! What a way to go to get a tummy tuck ;). Really glad everything went well with the surgery. Don't push yourself and get well soon. Take care, you'll be up and around and 'dancin in the streets' before you know it. Look at the bright side you have great weather to enjoy, so take time to smell the roses...

Good to hear you are doing well. Staff at St. Francis are terrific, because they are Wheaton Franciscan Staff who loves and take good care of patients like you.
Take it easy and relax. Without knowing it you'll be up and running and dancing again. We sure miss you. Saints of Elim are praying for your speedy recovery. We love you and hope to see your sweet smile on Sunday morning greeting the guests.

Glad to hear your doing well, I've been praying for you as well, and I agree don't know how people can get addicted to the pain meds either. I'm right there with you in moving in slow motion. But God is a great healer. Get lots of rest and know that I'm praying for you as are many others. God Bless.
